Author Description My latest YA contemporary novel, <i>The Assignment</i>, was published by Delacorte Press and was named a Sydney Taylor Notable Book, among other honors. I am also the author of <i>Hello?</i> and two non-fiction adult books, short stories, and newspaper and magazine articles. A pre-school to high school educator now conducting workshops and writing. I also know my way around a fender and a quarter panel and under the hood of a car.
